Welcome

Aims and Scope

In many problems of practical interest arises the need of merging quantitative information. This need comes from different and complementary disciplines such as Engineering, Economics, Science, Mathematics and others.

The study of Aggregation Operators (AGOP) has been extensively developed in the last 30 years from both theoretical and applicational points of view. Nowadays, they are a powerful tool in many fields like multicriteria decision making, fuzzy control, expert systems, approximate reasoning, neural networks, fuzzy systems modelling, measure theory.

Following the past editions of AGOP in Oviedo (2001), Alcalá de Henares (2003), Lugano (2005), Ghent (2007), Palma de Mallorca (2009), AGOP 2011 will be held in Benevento, Italy.

Since its inception, the International Summer School on Aggregation Operators has been devoted to facilitate the exchange and discussion on the latest trends and results on aggregation operators.

Organized by the Computational and Intelligent System Engineering Lab (CISELab) at the Dept. of Engineering of University of Sannio - Italy, in cooperation with the EUSFLAT working group AGOP, this edition aims at introduce Researchers and Ph.D. Students to the state of the art on Aggregation Operators.

Two 4-hours tutorials, two invited talks, a plenary paper session and a lab session will bring the latest trends, results and state-of-the-art overviews. The Summer School is organised in plenary sessions only.

Active researchers in this field are invited to submit their latest contribution. Papers will be selected to be presented and discussed in plenary sessions.

Special Issues

Authors of selected quality papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their contribution to special issues we are planning to organize after the conference for the following journals:
  • Fuzzy Sets and Systems (Elsevier)
  • Information Sciences (Elsevier)
  • Int. Journal of Intelligent Systems (Springer)

Submissions

Contributions should be prepared in the usual LATEX two-column style and the length should be aimed at 4-6 pages. Detailed instructions for authors will appear on website. An electronic submission system will be made soon available.

Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the summer school and to make oral presentations about their work.
